Activities
Regular class activities, inter-school and inter-house competitions, and daily and special assemblies build both personality and curriculum understanding at Excellia.
Quick answer
Excellia School runs regular hands-on class activities, periodic inter-school and inter-house competitions, and daily school assemblies plus special student-led assemblies for national days and festivals -- all aimed at building personality alongside curriculum understanding.
Class activities
A Chinese proverb puts it well: "Teach me and I will forget, show me and I might remember, involve me and I will never forget." With that in mind, Excellia School runs regular class activities to enhance children's personality and deepen their grasp of the curriculum -- among them, photo-frame making, vitamin activities, exploring living and non-living things, learning about dense forests, national symbols, and role play.
Inter-school and inter-house competitions
Thematic and occasion-based Inter-School Competitions are held at periodic intervals, alongside Inter-House Competitions that give every student a chance to represent their house.
School assemblies
The most important session of the school day begins with Prayer and the Pledge, moving into that day's theme. Special Assemblies mark different occasions and student achievements throughout the year.
Morning assemblies are an important part of school life -- and an age-old part of the country's culture, with every new day commencing with prayer. Special Assemblies make students aware of important events and occasions, and are designed and presented by a specific class under their teachers' guidance, drawing out hidden talent through prayer, skits, news reading, thought of the day, dance, recitation, song and character dramatisation.
The purpose goes beyond performance: it's about helping students overcome stage fright and giving every student a chance to perform in an activity of their choice, preparing them for the future. Important national days and festivals are celebrated through dance, music, mime and role play, so students grow into global citizens while retaining their traditional values -- in keeping with the school's mission to make quality, holistic learning lead naturally to excellence in every aspect of life.
